All activities center around the book: Bear Feels Scared by Karma Wilson
Ideas for how to use these materials:
Pages 2-5 has colored character picture cards and character name cards
These can be used for retelling, pocket chart activities, literacy centers to match the character picture card to the name card or memory game (making matches).
Page 6 has the repetitive phrases from the story….use on pocket chart, or put at a center or small group and mix, then put the words back in order. Always keep a copy or two of the book on hand for centers.
Pages 7-12 vocabulary words from the story
Definition cards have bear with a little blue flag so it isn’t confusing if you have them in a center for matching.

Pages 17-20 Question Cards and Board Game
Suggested directions: two children at a center with the question cards, game board and book along with some teddy bear counters. Children take turns reading one page of the book at a time. When they are done, they take turns reading a question card and answering the questions. If they answer correctly, they may place a teddy bear counter on the space listed on the question card.
