Karma Wilson's Bear series are the perfect picture book series to read during seasonal changes. Bear Wants More is a wonderful companion to your science lessons on Spring.

First Page: Bear Wants More: Vocab!
-This page asks students to select 4 different power packed vocab words from the book (in a word bank) and illustrate their meaning
Second Page: Bear Wants More: Sight Words!
-The second page is a great resource to photo copy and put in your literacy centers along with a copy of the book. Students will comb through the story and record sight words that are familiar to them
Third Page: Bear Wants More: FOOD!
-This science activity will lead to wonderful discussions about how animals search for food and invite your students to be true explorers. Recommended way to use it? Have children go outside with this paper, a pencil, and a clipboard and let them explore any nature near by your school discussion all the elements that critters might eat!
Fourth Page: Bear Wants More: RECIPES!
-Cooking is a such a great way to make a great story even more memoriable. This recipe has students making simple honey cakes (referenced in the book) and even encourages using fraction words such as half and quarter!
Although all of these pages are in color, they print clearly in black and white as well.
