Are you and your students excited about the Seattle Seahawks? If you want a GREAT activity that involves EDIBLE manipulatives, reviewing simple addition facts, introducing graphing, as well as working on adding 3 numbers together, then this is the activity for your class!
For this activity, I purchase a bag (or two depending on class size) of the individual fun-size bags of Skittles for my students to use, though you could also get a BIG bag and make your own bags of "manipulatives" using a Dixie cup as your measurement and Snack-Size Ziplocs for each student.
Once the students are all done, I usually let them eat some of their Skittles and save the rest for home. :)
This would also make for a great math center/station activity. I've done it in color for those students who may need some help with reading the colors, as well as the "Printer-friendly" B&W!
