These are a great way for students to practice Order of Operations!
5 different problems can be used as bell work, exit tickets, or can be laminated & made into task cards. I give these to my middle school students to practice...and tell them that the beasts cannot be fought with calculators! These would be excellent enrichment problems for older elementary students too.
Focus of the packet: Math Common Core Standards:
5.OA.1: Use parentheses, brackets, or braces in numerical expressions, and evaluate expressions with these symbols.
6.EE.1: Write and evaluate numerical expressions involving whole-number exponents.
5 Order of Operation challenges (2 to a page for ease of copying, could also be used as task cards.)
