Looking for a way to get your kids up and moving, providing them a brain break, while practicing beat AND improving literacy? This set includes:
*13 visuals for beat-keeping and creative movement
: Includes the following motions: Jump rope, hopscotch, swing, hula hoop, roll the dough, spin, pick an apple, climb a ladder, lasso, hula, drive, and two versions of your choice. To use the visuals, put on music with a steady beat (classical, jazz, and pop music suggestions are included) and show students the visuals; students have to do that motion to the beat until you switch to the next visual! For your choice, students have to improvise a motion!
*Beat motion cards
: Cards can be printed onto card stock and used in whole group, centers, or small groups to have students choreograph their own dance. Students decide the motions, then decide the number of beats for each motion, then perform their dance!
*Directions for use
: Suggestions for both the beat visuals and beat motion cards are included.
