I use this behavior management strategy to manage whole class routines and volume level. The students start the day with 3 green "thumbs up" signs. Throughout the day, the students may get a green "thumbs up" replaced with a red "thumbs down" for poor transitions, volume level, a poor report from another teacher, or inability to follow instructions. In my classroom, my students earn whole class rewards for ending the day with 3 green thumbs. You can decide what the expectation and reward is in your own classroom. I laminated mine, put magnet tape on the back, and keep them on the board. This works really well in my classroom. I introduced it when I began to notice that my students needed a whole class incentive in addition to the individual PBIS system that was being used. Be sure to print three copies of the thumb page.
