This file contains 18 journal prompts for students while reading Because of Winn-Dixie. Each prompt states what chapter it should be given after to optimize student reflection for that particular section of the book. Prompts are included for chapters 1, 3, 4, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 22, 24, 25, and 26.

This resource contains two prompts for the following chapters: 3, 14, 24

These are a wonderful way to spark student discussion, check for comprehension, and push students to think deeper about the story's events. Meets expectations for several CCSS ELA standards.
