Flip over 2 cards and see if they rhyme, but watch out! Don't get a bed bug! Your students will have lots of fun matching rhyming words with this co-operative learning game. Students must work together to play!
Place the bed in the middle of the table. Turn over all the cards face down and lay them out around the bed. Taking turns, students will choose 2 cards and look at the pictures. If the words rhyme, he/she puts the pictures on top of the bed. If the words don’t rhyme, he/she turns them over again and the next player gets a turn. If a student gets a “bed bug” card, he/she places it on one of the blue squares under the bed.
The object of the game is to find all of the rhyming pairs and place them on the bed before filling up all 8 squares of bed bugs!
*** This game can be played 2 ways. I included BOTH rhyming cards and beginning sound cards. Choose a set to play. ***
