This adorable Bee Bean Bag is a great, simple thing to make for home or school. There are endless games and uses for bean bags. Use yellow felt for front and back of bee body.
Use white felt for (2) wings.
Trace the template onto felt and cut out. You should have (2) yellow pieces of felt and (2) white pieces of felt.
Sew (1) black button on each of the yellow felt pieces where the "eye" should be. Sew a few stitches on each side of where a mouth should be.
Lay the (2) yellow felt pieces directly on top of each other.
Next pin the (2) white felt wing pieces between the (2) yellow pieces.
Lay 2-3 strips of black grosgrain ribbon horizontally on each side of the yellow felt bee body and pin in place. These are the bee's stripes.
Take an 8" piece of embroidery string and knot a couple times on each end. Bend string in half and pin in between (2) yellow felt body pieces. This will be the bee's antennae.
Sew the outside of the yellow felt bee body with black embroidery string. Leaving about a 2" opening for the dried beans to be added.
Add dried beans until you have filled the bean bag. Sew the opening closed in same stitch as you did the remainder of the body. If you plan on using the bean bag a lot, it is worth it to sew the outside perimeter with a sewing machine in yellow thread. Using the black embroidery string as decorative stitching only.
