This clip chart can be used in the classroom to help monitor students behaviors. I have also included a chart to help track the student's weekly behavior as well as a note to send home to parents.
Here is the layout of the chart:
- Outstanding Student! I am so proud of you
- You have made great choices!
- Good Day!
- Ready to Learn (followed by ideas on how to clip up)
- Think About Your Choices
- You can still turn it around
- Parent Contact - You are capable of doing better
Print and laminate the pages. Tape one page above another in order to create a string. "Outstanding Student" will be at the top and "Parent contact" will be at the bottom.
Hang the posters in the classroom and assign each student a number. Put numbered clothes pins in the middle at "ready to learn". When a student misbehaves, have them "clip down" by moving their clothes pin down one level. When a student is doing well, have them "clip up" one level.
At the end of the day, re-start all pins to the middle position and track where students ended their days. If they have multiple days ending below "ready to learn", then you might want to talk with the parents.
