For many people, this is a month of gift giving.
Why not incorporate that into your classroom by giving gifts of kindness?
Todd and Peggy Snow’s book Kindness to Share
from A to Z provides a great foundation for this activity. The theme of the book is “kindness is for sharing.” Your students will enjoy listening to ideas for acts of kindness match each letter of the alphabet.
Follow up the story by brainstorming things your class could do to show kindness to others. Challenge them to make a “Kindness Chain” that would reach from one side of the room to the other. There is minimal prep, simply cut strips of construction paper for your chain. Put a supply in a spot where your students can easily have access to them.
If a classroom chain isn't a fit for you and your classroom, you could follow up the story using the included worksheet.
Thanks for giving us feedback, and we always welcome new followers.
