There are 44 pre-primer word squares (15cm) that the teacher will use to make a Bee-Bot sentence mat. The students choose to program the Bee-Bot to go along a path they have created to use specific words to make a sentence. The Bee-Bot will pause at each word that goes along with the sentence that the students have made with the word cards. The students can even program the Bee-Bot to stop at a period or a question mark. The students love using the word squares to make sentences with the Bee-Bot! As a bonus, the pre-primer words are also either red, green, or black. Red words are short vowel words. Green words are long vowel words and black words are just sight words. Teachers have a choice between Arial Rounded and Comic Sans fonts.
Check out http://alpha-robotics.com/ to view my students using the Bee-Bot to learn their basic skills. The Bee-Bot is also a great STEM activity that encourages problem solving.
If you don't have a Bee-Bot, you can still use the word cards to have the students make their own sentences.
