This is a set of two tests for the book Beetles, Light Toasted by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. The first test supplies the answers and the students are asked to create the corresponding question. The second test gives student the questions and students are asked to find the corresponding answer. This gives the teacher the option to allow the students to choose which test they would like to take. The tests are also the answer keys for one another. Additionally, the tests could be cut apart on the lines and made into a matching review game.
This test could be differentiated by asking students to complete a set number of questions or answers and then allow students to choose which questions or answers they would like to complete. Also, this test could be open book to teach students how to use texts to find answers.
Please be sure to see the September 1974 issue of National Geographic and the story within called, "The Family Farm Ain't What it Used to Be" by James Sugar. This makes for a good comparison contrast work.
