Why make this resource available? Because it's been very helpful for me, personally. My son was still in the Early Years when he began taking both violin and piano lessons. The violin was somewhat easier because we started with Suzuki, and so it was all by ear. The piano, however, very quickly threw him into the world of music notation. This, for a child who did not yet know the alphabet! I had to think of how I could teach him note names in a quick, and fun manner. His method book had letter names on the notes. Check. I put those transparent letter names on the piano keys. Check. What else? Flash cards. However, the flash cards had to be differentiated for both emergent - and non-emergent - readers. And thus, these flash cards were born.
I would love to hear whether these flash cards were helpful for you, as well; please do drop me a line in the feedback section of my store. If you have any suggestions, I would also love to hear them. Thanks very much.
