    Description

    Looking for more opportunities to practice beginning blends in an engaging way? These are perfect for reinforcing the beginning blends!

    Each beginning blend group has 5 easy, low prep, and fun activities. Some worksheets are included in each bundle. Listed below are each set of blends with descriptions.

    Included in the S Blends pack: (sl, sp, sm, sn, sw, st, sk, sc)

    -Spooky Spider Matching: Students will match the spider word to the web picture. Students need to be reading the word in order to find its match!

    -Wizard Blends: Students will sort the beginning s blend pictures to match the wizard s blend sounds.

    -S'more Blends: Students will practice segmenting beginning blends and word families while making delicious s'mores.

    -Snakes & Snails Pick & Cover: Students will practice reading s blend words while trying to be the first to cover their game board. This game is a similar style to bingo.

    -Sloths & Skunks Go Fish: Students will practice reading s blend words while trying to find the pairs in a fun twist on go fish.

    -All activities have a black and white version.

    -2 worksheets are included to go along with two of the activities.

    Included in the L Blends pack: (pl, cl, bl, sl, fl, gl)

    -Real and Nonsense Sort: Students will blast off in their reading by deciding if the alien word is a real word or nonsense words.

    -Swat the Flies: Students will develop fluency with their l blends by playing swat the flies. They will read a fly word. Watch out for the fly swatters! If students get a swatter, then all their flies go back in the pile!

    -Sunglasses Matching: Students will practice reading their words by matching the word to the picture. This can be played memory style for more challenge.

    -FlaminGO Fish: Students will get to play go fish with cute flamingos. They will need to ask other players for l blend words to try and get a flamingo match!

    -Grow a Flower: Students will continue to reinforce the l blends by growing flowers and reading the words on each flower piece.

    -All activities have black and white versions to help save money on ink.

    -3 activities come with recording sheets or worksheets

    Included in the R Blends pack: (br, cr, dr, fr, gr, pr, tr)

    -Fairy Tale Matching: Students will have a magical time making groups of princesses, princes, and frogs while practicing reading r blend words.

    -Grilling Up True & False: Students will decide if the words match the picture on the card or not. They will need to sort the words under the true and false grill cards. This game is bound to make students hungry!

    -Fixing Up Missing Letters: Students will practice reading their words by fixing the missing r blends in each word. Students will need to place the r blend letters on the tools to fix the words!

    -Argh, Go Fish: Students will get to play go fish with parrots and treasure. They will need to ask other players for r blend words to try and get a parrot and treasure match!

    -War: Students will continue to reinforce the r blends by building their fluency during this game. It is played just like the card game, War, except students need to read their words as they lay their cards!

    -All activities have black and white versions to help save money on ink.

    -3 activities come with worksheets
