Scoot is an exciting way to get your class moving and working at the same time. Scoot can be used for a grade, as a formative assessment, or to review important skills. This scoot includes picture cards for beginning blends and diagraphs.
To play scoot place scoot cards on desk or tablets. Give each student a recording sheet. Let the students know which way they will “scoot”. Give students 1 minute (or an appropriate amount of time for your class) to write their answer on the recording sheet next to the number on the card. Say “Scoot” and students scoot to the next desk or seat, read the card, answer the question, and record their answer. Continue until the students end up back were they started.
You could also use the cards in a station as task cards or hang them around the room and have students walk around the room and write their answers on the recording sheet.
