Reading is an important life skill that we as educators strive to help students achieve. Teaching students to be able to recognize beginning letter sounds is an essential part in learning to read.
Filled with brightly coloured pictures, this sorting activity is a fun way for students to enhance their understanding of beginning letter sounds. I recommend laminating this activity and assembling it as a file folder activity. In one folder, have the sorting sheets for letters A-M, and in the second folder letters N-Z. This is an easy way to separate the alphabet so that early learners can focus on half the alphabet, instead of being overwhelmed by the whole thing!
This download includes:
-4 sorting sheets for the whole alphabet
-78 colourful pictures (3 pictures per letter)
This is a fantastic resource to use for individualized programming, special needs, pre-k, or kindergarten students.
Thanks for downloading and please take the time to leave comments or suggestions to help me improve my products!
