This is a great resource for mandatory student engagement, formative assessment and checks for understanding. Fold the paper in half (laminate for durability and future use). Add a clothes pin (or use finger as a pointer). After reading a story to students, say a detail from the story and students point or clip to if the detail occurred in the beginning, middle or end of the story. Students get excited about retelling the beginning, middle and end of a story.
