This no-prep printable product includes:
-pages for students to write or draw the beginning, middle and end of the story
-a completed example page to use with your students
-book list, for books with a strong beginning, middle, and end
One of the goals for both the Common Core and Texas (TEKS) is to identify the beginning, middle, and end of a story. This printable allows you to print two pages each for either the Common Core or TEKS.
The first page has 3 lined boxes for students to WRITE the beginning, middle, and end. The second page has 3 blank boxes for students to DRAW the beginning, middle and end.
You can either have students complete both (writing and drawing), or differentiate for struggling writers (drawing their answers) versus able writers (writing their answers).
I have used this in my school library to prepare for author visits. We study the author's books to get to know him (or her) better, while accomplishing one of our state learning goals at the same time.
Here's what other teachers have said about this product:
-"Love the page that leaves space for kids pictures. Perfect for kindergarten." (Thank you, Kate F.!)
-"Some great activities with little to no prep. The kids enjoyed this. Thanks." (Thank you, Dustin Best!)
-"Awesome! Love the lined paper option for my second graders. I also appreciated the box to draw a picture; this was helpful for my struggling readers who can't always elaborate as well in writing. Thanks!" (Thank you, Rebekah Groop!)
