This can be displayed on a screen and shared with the entire class, the teacher can ask what comes next. This can be completed verbally where the teacher calls one student at a time to come over to a table and record their responses. This can be completed by providing manipulatives such as cubes or magnets for them to complete the patterns. Or, this can be completed by allowing the children to write on the paper with a crayon or marker to finish the patterns.
