Un paquete de oraciones misteriosas para lectores principantes
Please see preview.
This Spanish pack includes 15 mystery sentences pages that feature each feature one sentence. An alphabet key is also included that shows students the pictures with the letters. Answer keys are also included.
In this activity, students must use the alphabet key/code to determine what the mystery question is. Line by line, students write down the letter that corresponds with the mystery symbols until they have used their sleuthing skills to decode the entire sentence. Students must then read the sentence (all of which are a question) and answer the question in the left hand box at the bottom. In the box on the right hand side of the page, students will illustrate their answer to the question with a picture.
In this pack, all of the questions relate to the student. They ask about personal facts about the student (month of their birthday, number of people in their family, color of their eyes, etc.) and about the student's opinions (preferred kind of pet, favorite color, favorite book, etc.).
As an extension, you could also have the students do this activity without the alphabet key by asking them to write the beginning sound of each picture on each line. In this way, one of the primary focuses of the activity is shifted from letter identification to phonics.
These mystery word pages make a great literacy center, morning warm-up, or homework. Your students will love being detectives with the secret code while practicing their decoding skills.
