This is a worksheet that can be used for beginning or ESL readers. It lays the foundation for thinking about what one has read. Students choose any book they would like to read (assuming it is level appropriate), and then practice previewing skills by examining the cover and title. Students then read the book and answer a simple question about main character. Students also have space to write down any vocabulary words that are new for them so that they can be discussed in class. Finally, students think about what they read, considering what they liked and disliked to later be discussed in class.
