Kindergarten ELA is a six week complete step by step approach to teaching foundational reading skills. Included in this resource are six weeks of systematic, explicit daily "scripted lessons" that focus on letter naming fluency, first sound fluency, first sound recognition, on-set and rime, phoneme blending, segmenting and blending, rhyming, sight word fluency, and handwriting.
Each week focuses on a core group of letters, short vowel sounds, and sight words.
The sixth week is more of a general review lesson. The order of letters taught are as follows. S, M, R, T, B, A, N, H, V, C, P, G, F, L, I, K, Q, U, D, Z, O, X, W, E, Y, J
The sight words are: I, like, the, and, see, we, a, to, come, me
This program is intended to be used for whole class instruction, however, it can also be used for RTI groups, intervention groups, or guided reading groups.
The program is designed to be taught daily, however it is flexible and not all parts need to be taught. You can focus on the areas that your students need the most practice with. Use it to best fit your classroom needs.
