I print the alphabet and direction cards out on cardstock since the students will be using them. Cut our all the alphabet and directions cards. I take a folder and staple two ziploc bags on one side then paste the directions on the other side (a sample is in my pictures). Then I put all the alphabet cards in one ziploc bag and the direction cards in the other.
I have included both upper and lower case letters. You can use one or other or both. If working with younger kiddos you may want to remove some of the more difficult letters to use (Q,X,Y,Z).
To Play: Lay the alphabet and direction cards face down in two different piles.
When it is your turn, flip over one of each. Think of a word that follows the direction card but begins with the letter you flipped over.
For example, I flipped over "a food" and "b". I could choose "banana" since banana is a food and starts with b!
If you get it right, you keep the direction card and place the letter card at the bottom of the pile.
The winner is whoever has the most direction cards once all directions cards are gone or time is up.
