When you teach young learners, you can never have too many Beginning Sound activities. This bundle includes three different activities with which your students can practice their beginning sound skills in a fun manner.
The first activity is "What's My Beginning Sound?" With this game you need to print the game boards and add a single die.Students roll the die, find the corresponding row, and say the names of the three pictures. Students then determine the beginning sound they have in common. You can add magnetic letters for them to place beside the correct row should you choose.
The second activity are "Beginning Sound Bracelets". These pages are in blackline format. Print the sheets, slide the bracelets apart on the papercutter, and students look at the picture to determine which words begin with the same sound. Those pictures get colored, while those that do not belong get an "X" on them. Simply staple around the student's wrist to wear for the rest of the day.
Finally, the third activity is "What Doesn't Belong". All you need again is the single die. Students roll and find the corresponding row. The job is to determine which picture doesn't belong. Students can "X" out the picture with a dry erase marker if you laminated the cards. You can also put a "chip" on the picture that does not belong.
