Beginning Sound Color Pages are meant to accompany your current spelling/word work/word sort program. I use this with the Words Their Way (Letter Name-Alphabetic) program.
Students only need the student page and their crayons to complete their task. They will say the name of each picture and color it according to the beginning sound and the color key. I tried to be mindful and not use multiple-name pictures like mouse/rat and rabbit/bunny to cut down on confusion.
I do my sorts on a 2-week cycle, so these would last me 10 weeks, by doing a page every other week. If you do 1-week cycles, you would do one page per week for 5 weeks.
