Beginning Sound QR Codes provides engaging practice for Kindergarten students who are working on beginning sound recognition and letter recognition. This activity integrates technology and can be used during small group instruction, literacy center time, or independently for early finishers.
Print and cut the cards. Students can use an iPod, old iPhone, or other device with a QR scanning app to scan the QR codes. Each QR code is connected to a beginning sound picture. There is one picture for each letter of the alphabet. Students identify the first sound and color or trace the corresponding letter on the recording sheet.
