Description
This download includes 54 STRIPS that give early readers a chance to practice discriminating between multiple BEGINNING SOUNDS and determining which two are the same.
It is WORDLESS to support PHONEMIC AWARENESS goals and includes bright, vivid images for:
- short and long vowel sounds
- consonants
- digraphs (ch, sh, and th)
Just print, cut, and laminate and you're ready to go! Any manipulative will work with this item... we use standard bingo chips. (Hover over 2nd thumbnail image for a sample.)
They're great for:
- literacy centers
- partner practice
- small group guided instruction
- ongoing progress monitoring / assessment
TIP: If you'd like to make the strips self-checking, put a sticker or make a small dot on the back of the two correct images before laminating. That way, the children can check their own progress independently. This is especially helpful if the strips are located in a center.
Thank you for your interest in this item.
Happy teaching! :)
