This freebie sample includes a mini, four page booklet for the letter A. I created the booklet keeping in mind that there is a wide range of ability in this age group. Some are learning letters while others are writing sentences. All students will be able to work in the booklet at the same time, able to do something at their level. Pages are not numbered so can be arranged as you like. Please see suggestion below for some writing extension ideas.
The cover page displays the letter which the students can color, and a space for the student’s name.
On the second page, the students can trace the picture and the word.
On the third page the students find and circle five of the designated letter.
On the last page the students find and color (or circle) three pictures with that beginning sound. The only exception is for the letter X – there is one picture to find and circle in the group.
I would suggest adding one or two blank pages to back of booklet for those students who are writing. Some ideas for what to write on these pages are:
• Write a word for each circled picture.
• Write a sentence for each circled picture.
• Write a silly sentence using all three circled words.
• Write a little story using all three circled words.
