Do you have an extra calendar chart lying around? If the answer is yes, then this is the perfect way to use it!
This activity will have your children working on phonemic awareness with beginning sounds. Print out the alphabet cards and put them in your calendar pocket chart. Laminate the pictures and have children place them behind the matching letter!
I have included 3 variations of the letters: capital, lowercase or both. This is great for differentiating for your children’s needs. Capital letters are commonly the first letters known, lowercase may be harder for some, or try the set with both to have your children begin recognizing the capital and lowercase letters together.
There are 2 complete sets of alphabet pictures to use with the beginning sounds cards. Both of these sets come in two options: one set to cut around the pictures or one set that are in squares for simpler cutting. The set of cards that are in squares also have a second option of cards with the words. Again, this is great for differentiating.
