What educators are saying

Very straight forward, my kids loved to be able to wear them after they finish working and coloring them.
This is such a fun and awesome way to reinforce learning our new letters! My students love making these each week!

Description

The purpose of this activity is to increase letter knowledge. Students will practice identifying and naming letters and the sounds that they make. Use this as a supplement to your phonics program.

revised:sept.2014 (Pictures for vowels are all short vowels.)

NOTE: Find it in Spanish here.

These alphabet crowns may be used during small group, whole group or in centers. Just choose the letter that the class or student needs to practice.

Instructions:
Students will give the letter name and the sound of the big letters.
Students will name the pictures and the first sound for each one.
Students will write the first letter for each picture.
Students will color each picture.
Students will create a color pattern on the line of gems.
Students will cut the crown pattern.
Students will glue or staple it to a sentence strip.
Wear your letter crown!
