Beginning Sounds Game
This PowerPoint game is great for introducing beginning sounds in words or for students that need remediation. It is also great for putting up on the big screen and doing as a class. Kids also love to play games when they finish early with their work. Sometimes I would use PowerPoint games as an incentive for students that were extra slow at finishing their work or students who didn't want to finish their work.
This game teaches the student to identify 11 beginning sounds. The question is read, and the student must click on the picture that matches the beginning sound.
This game has the question written at the top of the screen and also reads the question to the student. The student can click to have a picture name told to them or click to have the question read again. It tells the child when the student gets an answer correct or incorrect. The game also ends with moving pictures and cheering so the students feel like they did a good job.
This game stops at the end, so when the student finishes, you will have to exit out for them on the bottom left side button. I did this so that the kids couldn't finish the game and change anything in the slides by pushing buttons.
