Help you students practice identifying the beginning sound of words by using this seasonal activity!
Students will 'build' snowmen while practicing beginning sounds.
Each letter of the alphabet is represented by a snowman. The snowman's hat contains the letter to focus on...the snowballs contain pictures that begin with the letter on the hat. Each letter has three snowballs to match, except for letter Xx. Letter Xx has two different pictures of Xrays and one snowball with the letters 'Xx' on it. All of the vowel snowmen focus on the short vowel sounds only.
You will also receive three recording sheets to use if you choose. The recording sheets contain the same pictures found on the snowballs. Students will write the beginning sound of each picture on the recording sheet. The recording sheets do not go in any order and do not contain ALL sounds on one page. They are just an extra 'bonus' to your purchase of the activity. Use them if you think they will benefit YOUR classroom.
