In the years I've been a teacher, I've been amazed at what some students don't think are disrespectful Talking while you're talking? That's not disrespectful if it's important! Cheating on a test or openly lying? That has nothing to do with respect! I've learned, therefore, how important it is begin the year by talking about what respect means to me and what it means it means to my students, and coming to some sort of agreement. My survey helps you get this started.
This survey asks for students to give their opinions on twenty-five statements related to giving, receiving, and feeling respect. This survey is a great way to beginning a discussion about classroom environment or classroom rules and expectations. It can also open up to a debate or a longer writing assignment.
