I developed this project because I LOVE the book Only One You, by Linda Kranz. My teammates and I also were looking for “artifacts,” besides just writing or drawing, that we could put in our end-of-the-year time capsules! (See separate listing.) These rocks are perfect! They would also make a wonderful beginning of the year activity for older students, or be a good self-esteem builder any time of year! (We wouldn’t try it with a whole class of young kindergarten students; the rocks you see in our pictures were painted by our almost-first-graders!)
It’s so important for each child to realize how unique and special they are, and to celebrate what they’re learning during the school year! We hope that you will enjoy painting rock fish as much as we do!
Included in this “Make a Memory” pack:
*Painting Rock Fish Step By Step (with photos)
*Things To Remember (writing page)
*Find a Friend (printable activity)
*What Makes You Special (writing page)
*Make the World a Better Place (writing)
*Find the Match (independent activity)
