Description

Do you need a new, fall themed activity for matching letters with beginning sounds?
This game set includes 26 standing scarecrow cards, each holding a capital and a lowercase form of a different letter and 104 seated scarecrow cards with pictures to match to the letters. The picture cards for X are x-ray, x-ray fish, fox, and mix. All other letters have four cards with beginning sounds to match to each letter card.

The scarecrows are separate so you can print and use them in the order that you introduce the letters or as needed by students who require extra practice with letters and sounds. This activity is great for ESL and young learners.

Print these scarecrows and laminate them. They can be used in a variety of ways.

Students can match the letter sounds to the letters in a pocket chart or as a table game.

For a more active game, post the alphabet scarecrow shapes around the classroom. Pass out the sound scarecrows and have students find the matching letter scarecrow.

These can be used with/ by guided reading groups, literacy stations, small groups, older class buddies, student teachers, parent volunteers, and RTI (response to intervention)
