The perfect way to get your kiddos practicing their initial/beginning word sounds.
This activity can be used at a table as a center or as a write the room activity.
Center: Scatter the cards around the table. Students pick a card. They sound it out and decide what the beginning sound is. They record the rest of the word on the line next the initial sound.
Write the Room: Laminate (or tape) the words around the classroom. Students can use their recording sheet on a clip board and walk around the room looking for pictures. When they find a picture card they sound it out and decide what the beginning sound is They record the rest of the word on the line next to the initial sound.
Picture cards come in color and black and white!
