Behavior Calendars are a daily communication between teacher and student and teacher and family how about the student behaved during the school day. I have been using these for years and find them extremely effective.
Each students has a calendar in his or her homework folder and will receive a happy, uh-oh, or sad face at the end of the day. Only the teacher, student, and family can see this mark, saving the student embarrassment from having it publicly displayed.
Having a daily communication on behavior allows students to self-manage their behavior and allows parents and family to be kept aware of how their child is behaving in school. It is a life saver!
