I use this chart for recording student behavior throughout the day. After 2 warnings they will use a part of their recess time to reflect upon their choices. After their time is finished I conference with them and ask them how they could have chosen differently. Many times students do not remember the details of the incident. I cannot either, unless I use this chart. The handy code allows me to record why the student has owed time so that I remember when I conference with them. I take the chart outside with me when we go outside so it is handy for conferencing, but also to have a roster with me for safety purposes. It can be adapted for older grades, who do not have recess as well. Perhaps teachers want to keep track of student behavior to document consequences such as demerits.
