While in long term sub assignments, I have found it very helpful to have a behavior chart for each child. I let the children know that their behavior chart will go home with them each day in their folders. Their parents are asked to initial the chart each day and send it back to school the next day in their child's folder.
After trying several different charts, I have found this chart to be the most helpful and time saving chart so far! The classroom rules are written on the chart and they are given numbers. At the end of the day, I draw the face on the chart. If the child had satisfactory or unsatisfactory behavior, I write the numbers of the rules that were not followed during the day. This saves time due to the fact that you will not have to write out any lengthy notes!
There are two charts in this download. I have included a chart for those teachers who use the green, yellow, red colors for behavior. For example, under "Great Job" it reads as follows: "Your child was on green at the end of the day." The second chart does not include the behavior colors.
