This is a discipline strategy that promotes positive behavior that I learned about in a school wide professional training. It consists of seven levels of achievement. The top most level is labeled "Role Model". Next, in descending order is as following:
"You're Doing Great!"
"Ready To Learn"
"Make Good Choices"
Students are able to keep track of their progress with clothes pins clipped to their corresponding level of achievement. Each child starts the day off clipped to the "Ready to Learn" level. During the day, clips move up one level or down one level. Good behavior moves the clip up and inappropriate behavior moves the clip down.
I have also included a weekly student grade book where students can chart their behavior on a daily and weekly basis. In addition, if student reach the top of the chart, I have created "I was a Role Model" cards to be signed by the teacher and sent home with the student. I must give credit to TpT author, kholmquist for inspiring this idea.
