This behavior chart prevents students from shutting down because it does not have the standard happy face and sad face scale. You use numbers instead. Therefore, if a student has trouble participating in class and gets off task, you would use a numbered scale. For example, if the student participates a lot, they would get 3 out of 3 points. If they partially participated, they would receive 2 out of 3 points. If they had no participation, they would receive 1 out of 3 points. There is not an option for getting 0 out of 3 points because this makes students shut down. You can revise this document to your needs in your own classroom!
