Hello Fellow Educators!
I’m not sure how you deal with behaviour issues, but I have used many different tactics over the years. The idea of making sure they are productive in whatever discipline is used has always been important for me and so the development of this lapbook came about.
The idea is that students are given an amount of points they need to complete in order to resume regular interactions with the class. Preferably this is done in an in-school suspension situation. However, this may not be possible for your situation so it just means they are given the folder and a spot to sit to complete it.
Our school had buddy classrooms where we could send students who needed to work off their points. This way it’s a quick exchange with the buddy teacher and the student has work to do in a quick fashion without you needing to photocopy mounds of worksheets!
Unlike student lapbooks, this is a lapbook you create ahead of time and keep on-hand for quick access as needed. Simply fill in your chosen disciplines in each points category, slip the needed supply sheets into the back and fill the inside with paper. Send along a pencil and off they go!
