This works WONDERS for kiddos that struggle with behavior. For each part of the day, the child can earn up to 5 points. There is a possibility to earn a 0, but should never be used unless another adult has to step in.
Allowing kids to see that they can have a fresh start in other classes helps those that easily get discouraged after one bad part of the day.
I allow my kiddo to choose his rewards each day, but they have to make sense. That child can only receive rewards once he/she has earned at least half of their points.
I send home a half sheet every Friday called "Flashback Friday" that has all the points for the week and any comments I need the parents to know. I have them sign and return it so I know the parents are aware of the behavior
I keep all of these on file in case I need to look back or notice any trends in behavior to make changes.
