This is a behavior plan for a student that may experience anxiety, anger, or frustration, but who is able to work through their feelings independently. This chart will help the student to calm down, to think about what they are feeling and why, and to use strategies to help them feel better and be able to re-enter the learning environment.
For this to be a safe and effective tool, you must introduce the concept of a "safe person," or someone that the student can come to for help when they feel unsafe or too out of control to use this chart, such as a teacher, paraprofessional, or another trusted adult. On the top of the chart the student can write in who their safe person or people are.
