A letter designed to help students reflect on what they are sorry for and what they could do better next time. Whether they are writing it to a teacher or a student, it helps them take ownership and responsibility for their behavior. Also, it prompts them to apologize to the person in a meaningful way.
Tips & Tricks:
1. I send home a letter explaining how I intend to use it. I also include a copy of what the template looks like.
2. I have the student sit on their own and write it during snack time.
3. I send home a copy of the student's reflection letter when the situation warrants it.
