This reward chart is intended for young elementary grades, (K-1). It focuses on 5 specific behaviors, (transition, get materials, start work, complete work, and kind words). The green, yellow and red emoji's coincide with the zones of regulation. Green is the green zone, (ready to learn and emotions are at baseline for the student.) When a student does the skill listed, a tally in the green. When the student does the skill with some reminders, a tally or check in the yellow. Red signifies they do not do the skill, or need to leave the classroom because of disruptive behaviors. Students add up the green tallies for a reward either scheduled through the day, or they can bank them for a longer reward at the end of the day.
Some teaching involved before implementing such a plan should be meeting with the student to brainstorm and make a list of green behaviors, yellow behaviors and red behaviors so they will know why they scored the way they did.
Also, you should brainstorm incentives and rewards to be earned with the green tallies.
