My name is Anna Marie Woloszyn, and I have been teaching 5th grade for 13 years. In that time, I have come to appreciate the importance of having students self-reflect on a variety of items, including their behavior in the classroom and school setting. I have created a rubric that allows students to rate themselves on a scale of 4 through 1. I then go through and rate them using the same scale, so that they can see any differences in opinion. We usually do this twice a year, around conferences. Students then present this to their parents during student-led conferences. It is a great way for students to take ownership of their own learning.
