Every so often we come across a student who is difficult to manage within the classroom. I have created this chart to help students modify his/her behavior by seeing the advantages of making good choices and disadvantages of making bad choices. I usually fill in times for each subject or class period on the top of the first circles and in the circles on the 3rd row. In the boxes on the left I pick to behavioral issues I will be working with the child to improve. We will focus on only these two behaviors until they have been mastered and then i may change it to new behaviors to work on if needed. In the circles on the top I give different faces. For instance the Super face would be a smiley face, where as the I'll try harder face would be a sad face. The students faces are given points and will be added up at the end of the day. Depending on the amount of points the child has earned that day he/she has to do a specific activity at the end of the day. For instance, if the child had mostly smileys they would do their favorite activity versus if they had a lot of fair or i'll try harder faces then they would have to do something they don't like to do as much.
I have found this behavior chart to work very well and helps the parents see that their child is having difficult and it is always nice to see them improve. Parents sign and return each night and it's amazing how the behaviors improve!
