Ever had a student who is doing the wrong thing, nothing major or dangerous but something that they know they shouldn't be doing. Don't want to call out over a room of working on task students to ask them to stop. Use one of these. Place a STOP card on their desk and let them know that you know they are not doing what they should be. Sweep round and take it off their desk when they have made the right choice.
This resource has to two types, a coloured card or a black and white version. Use this as a non-verbal warning and to keep things running smooth in your classroom and without disrupting on-task students.
*** Some pre teaching about this resource may be required about what will happen if they don't fix their behaviour, or if they honestly don't know what they are doing that s wrong, how to get a card removed etc. This works well in my classroom, I leave it on a student's desk if they are not doing what they are supposed to be doing (usually they are disrupting others or not working) and then in 5 minutes I check, and take it off if they have settled into their work.
Feel free to message me if you download this resource for some more tips and tricks on how to use it effectively in a grade 3-6 classroom.
